Aluminium doors

Emezzi’s aluminium doors deliver the steel-look aesthetic of steel doors, without the weight, the rust risk, or the cost of solid steel. Our doors have slim 30 millimetre profiles, large glass panels, and a flat matt finish that reads as architectural once installed. Our doors are custom-made to your exact dimensions, available across the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, and the United Kingdom.

Slim and stylish

Aluminium doors that look like steel, but lighter and easier to live with

The slim 30 millimetre profile is what defines the look. Slim enough that the glass dominates and the frame recedes, it matches the sightline of original steel crittall and industrial-style doors closely enough that most people cannot tell the difference once the door or wall is installed.

The material of that profile is aluminium, and that is a deliberate choice. Lighter, rust-free, and more affordable than solid steel, with the same visual outcome. For most buildings and most budgets, aluminium is simply the better material for this style of door.

The range: opening types, styles and finishes

By opening type

By opening type

There are different door types. Pivot doors make a statement and suit larger, taller door openings where the scale of the door is part of the design. Hinged doors are the most traditional and versatile choice, working across the widest range of door openings and interior styles. Sliding doors run on a wall-mounted track and preserve floor space, with a soft-close mechanism as standard. Rebate doors give a sealed meeting edge for double-door configurations where air and light control matter.

By style: fully glazed or crittall-look

By style: fully glazed or crittall-look

There are two styles available across all opening types. Fully glazed slim aluminium doors are the modern minimalist option: the 30 millimetre frame with uninterrupted glass and no bar divisions. Crittall-look multi-pane aluminium doors use horizontal and vertical bars to divide the glass into a grid, giving the door its heritage industrial character. The choice is purely aesthetic.

By finish

By finish

Matt black RAL9005 is the most-specified default and the closest match to the original steel aesthetic. White suits Scandi and heritage interiors. Bronze is a warm contemporary alternative. Gold is the statement choice. Any RAL colour is available, and all standard finishes are included in the base configurator price.

Why aluminium is the right material for this style

Aluminium is roughly 15 percent lighter than equivalent solid steel doors. That reduces the strain on hinges, pivot mechanisms, and sliding tracks over time, keeping the hardware smooth and reliable for longer. It also makes daily use easier, particularly for larger doors and pivot configurations where the weight of the door is felt every time it opens.

Aluminium does not rust or corrode, which is important in kitchens, garden rooms, and any space with moisture. It manufactures faster than steel and costs considerably less, without any visible difference in the finished door. This is the most important reason why we use aluminium.

Aluminium vs staal

Where do Emezzi aluminium doors fit?

Kitchen-to-living-room dividers are the most common installation across all Emezzi markets in Europe. A slim aluminium framed glass door between an open-plan kitchen and a living room defines the two zones without blocking the light or closing the space down.

Ensuites and dressing rooms, home offices, and hallway-to-stairs transitions are also natural fits for lightweight metal doors in the slim aluminium profile.

Garden rooms and conservatory entrances also suit the look well, where the multi-pane or fully glazed door frames the view to the outside. The same product specification works for light-commercial use, including office partitions and meeting room dividers, across all Emezzi markets.

Custom-made

Custom-made dimensions, delivered and installed

Every Emezzi aluminium door is made to measure. A specialist visits your home or project site for a measurement visit, confirms the opening dimensions, and checks the conditions on site. The maximum width per panel is 150 centimetres. For wider door openings, fixed side panels or a double-door configuration extend the system without breaking the visual line.

The door is manufactured in Emezzi’s own workshop in Nunspeet (The Netherlands) and installed by authorised dealers across the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, and France. Frequently asked questions about aluminium doors

Why do you have to choose our aluminium doors? These are the questions people ask most often when exploring our aluminium doors.

Why do you call them "steel doors" if they are aluminium?

“Steel door” has become a generic interior design term for doors with a slim profile and multi-pane or fully glazed glass, regardless of the actual material. Most premium slim-profile internal doors sold today are made from aluminium, not from solid steel. Emezzi uses both terms openly across the site because the visual category is the same, although the material is aluminium.

Are aluminium doors weaker than steel doors?

Aluminium is structurally rated for the door application and tested for a cycle life well beyond residential use. The 30 millimetre profile is sized for the load the door carries, and laminated safety glass is standard across the range. The difference between aluminium and steel in this context is about weight, not about strength.

Where does Emezzi manufacture and deliver?

Emezzi manufactures in its own workshop in Nunspeet, in the Netherlands, and delivers across the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, the UK and France. The installation is handled by authorised dealers in each market. Read about our process.

How quickly can I get an aluminium door installed?

The typical lead time is six to ten weeks, from signed quote to installation. This is subject to current production levels. The process runs in four steps: quote acceptance, measurement visit, manufacture, and installation. After you confirm your order, the dealer schedules the measurement visit within a fixed window.
