White steel doors

Not every home suits a standard black door. A white steel door gives you the same slim sightlines and large glass surfaces, but with a finish that is calmer, brighter, and at home in a completely different range of interiors.

Emezzi’s white steel doors have powder-coated aluminium in RAL9010, with the same 30 millimetre profile as the rest of the steel door range. These doors look clean and contemporary without the industrial edge that black brings.

Smooth sliding doors

White steel doors, a lighter take on the industrial look

Black doors work beautifully in the right space. In a Scandi interior, a coastal home, a smaller room that needs to feel larger, or a period property where black would feel too heavy, white is simply the better fit.

Think of a bright kitchen with white cabinetry, a bedroom that needs to feel airy, or a bathroom where you want the door to blend into the wall rather than stand out from it. A white internal door with glass does all of that while keeping the slim, framed look that makes steel doors worth choosing in the first place.

Why white doors look different from steel, and why ours do not

Most steel doors on the market look chunky. The traditional steel profiles are wider, and in white, that width reads as heavy rather than refined.

Emezzi’s white aluminium doors keep the same 30 millimetre profile as the black version, but it looks less heavy. The powder-coated finish is matt RAL9010, which stays bright over time without yellowing. The result is a white framed glass crittall style door that reads as genuinely slim, not as a compromise.

Why choose an overlay door?

Configure your white steel door

White opens up glass options that are not that beautiful with other colours. White works particularly well with frosted, reeded, and satin glass, which all read softer and more diffused against a light profile.

Clear safety glass keeps the opening fully transparent and suits rooms where you want maximum light and an unobstructed view.

Bronze or grey tinted glass against white is a strong contrast and a deliberate designer choice rather than clear glass. It works well when the glass must be the focal point of the door and when privacy is important.

Door type: pivot, hinged, sliding or flush

Door type: pivot, hinged, sliding or flush

All four door types are beautiful in white. A pivot door makes a statement and suits larger openings. A hinged door works in almost any opening. A sliding door preserves floor space and suits tighter rooms. A flush door aligns with the wall surface and disappears into it. Each type uses the same 30 millimetre aluminium profile.

Where do white steel doors work best?

White outperforms black in a few specific situations. North-facing rooms that need all the brightness they can get are a good example. Smaller spaces also benefit from white aluminium doors, because a white profile reflects the light better. This makes the room feel larger.

Coastal and Scandi interiors are a natural fit for white steel doors, where the palette tends towards light, pale, and natural tones. White crittall doors are also a recognised choice in Georgian and 1930s interiors, where black would read as too contemporary and white sits more comfortably with the original architecture.

Ensuite doors in white are particularly popular, especially in tiny rooms. A matching white steel wall takes that further, turning the door and its surrounding panels into one continuous system.

Finishes and Handle Options

Other finishes: black, bronze, gold and any RAL

RAL9010 is ‘the standard white’, but you can choose any RAL colour. Off-whites, soft greys, and warm whites are all available, and subtle differences in white tone can change how the door reads against adjacent walls quite dramatically.

Made to Measure and Professionally Installed

Custom-made dimensions, fitted across the UK

Every Emezzi white steel door is made to measure. Our specialist visits your home for a measurement visit, confirms your specification, and checks the opening. The maximum width per leaf is 150 centimetres. For wider openings, side panels or a double-door configuration extend the system without breaking the visual line.

The door is then manufactured in the workshop and installed by Emezzi-authorised dealers. Read the answers to your questions about lead times and installation.

Frequently asked questions about white steel doors

These are the questions people ask most before ordering a white door specifically.

Will the white finish yellow or scuff over time?

The finish on our doors is powder-coated and UV-stable, so it does not yellow with age. Maintenance is simple: a wipe with a damp cloth is all it takes. No specialist products are needed, and the finish carries the same warranty as the black range.

Can I have a different white than RAL9010?

RAL9010 is the standard, but any RAL white or other RAL colour is available on request, including RAL9016 traffic white, RAL9003 signal white, and various off-whites. Subtle differences in white tone can change how the door reads against your walls quite significantly, so it is worth comparing a few options before you decide.

How much space does a sliding door save versus hinged?

A standard hinged door needs a clear arc of roughly 90 centimetres for the swing, which is close to a square metre of floor space that cannot be used for anything else. A sliding door uses none of that space. In a small room, that difference is decisive. In a larger room, it frees up wall space for furniture or simply makes the room easier to move through.

Do white doors show fingerprints and marks more than black?

Powder-coated surfaces hide marks reasonably well in both colours. The area around the latch and handle can show prints earlier in a lighter finish, especially with light-coloured handles. A standard wipe-clean routine keeps the door looking good, and choosing a handle in a dark finish helps mask wear in that area.

Do white steel doors match crittall-style heritage looks?

White crittall-style doors are a well-established heritage choice, particularly in 1930s and Georgian properties where black would feel too industrial. The slim 30 millimetre white aluminium profile sits naturally within those architectural styles and reads as period-appropriate rather than contemporary.
