Our doors are crafted from high-quality, thick, powder-coated aluminium. Our base colour is black. However, if you prefer white, bronze or gold, almost any colour is possible. The entire mechanism of this unique door is engineered to form a unity with the profile. This creates a clean, minimalist appearance where the door looks as if it is floating in the opening.

Why pivot doors don’t need a frame

Traditional steel doors hang from side hinges, which requires a sturdy frame to support the weight and prevent sagging of the door over time. A pivot door transfers its entire load directly into the floor and ceiling. Because these solid mounting points carry the weight of the door from below and above, a separate door frame is unnecessary.

How a pivot door fits into an existing opening

Installing a pivot door differs significantly from mounting a standard door system. Pivot doors require a solid base for mounting the pivot brackets to the cealing or top of the doorframe. This will give the screws something to bite into. Our system can be placed on any floor.
The bottom bracket will be secured on the floor with special bolts that only penetrate 1cm into the floor. Held tight with special plugs.

Our surveyor will confirm whether your floor and ceiling can handle the load during the home visit. The preparation process is typically very straightforward in a new-build property. It can be slightly more involved in a retrofit project for an existing house. Our team will guide you through the necessary steps in your specific situation. At what witdth is the pivot hinge located?

As standard, the pivot point is positioned 10 cm from the side of the door or the wall.
In some situations, the pivot point can be positioned differently, for example with an extra-wide door. This must always be discussed with our specialists to ensure the door operates correctly and can be installed safely.

The door can always open in both directions up to 90 degrees. Where space allows, it can open as far as approximately 150 degrees.

Will the pivot mechanism wear out?

Our pivot hardware is engineered to last for decades in a standard residential home. The mechanism is rated for exceptionally high cycle counts, well beyond any realistic lifetime use of an interior door. You do not have to worry about the system sagging or losing its smooth motion over time. Does a component ever require maintenance? The auto-return cartridges can be replaced easily. This quick service happens without disturbing the door panel or the surrounding wall structure.

Can a pivot door be used as an external door?

No, Emezzi pivot doors are designed strictly for internal door openings. They do not feature the weather-stripping or insulation required for an external front entrance. Our doors are engineered to create seamless transitions and optimize light flow between the rooms inside your home.

How tall can an Emezzi pivot door be?

Our production process accommodates heights well beyond the limits of a typical hinged door system. The absolute maximum height for your specific project is determined by our engineering checks during the survey, but is maximum 300 centimetres overall. This depends heavily on the structural strength of your ceiling and floor. We recommend booking your home survey early if you are planning a particularly tall opening.

Are pivot doors more expensive than hinged doors?

Pivot doors are often more affordable than hinged doors because they do not require a frame. This means less material is needed. Hinged doors also take more time and effort to install, which can increase the overall cost.
