Where bronze steel doors work best

Bronze Crittall-doors work particularly well in warm, timber-led interiors. Next to walnut or oak floors, the bronze profile looks natural and considered. They are also a strong choice in Edwardian and Art Deco schemes, where the warmth of the finish fits the period character of the space. In dining rooms and snugs, bronze flatters lamp light. Pair the profile with bronze or grey tinted glass for a mysterious look.

The final price includes measuring up, manufacture, and installation, always shown with VAT.

A bronze profile with bronze or clear glass?

There are two main design routes. Clear glass keeps the door visually light and lets the bronze profile do the work. Bronze tinted glass deepens the warmth of the frame and gives a more dramatic, considered look.

Frosted glass is also available, but this reads slightly cooler against the warm bronze profile. Because of this, frosted glass works better in spaces where privacy matters more than atmosphere.

Matching handles, hinges and pull bars

Different kinds of handles are available in matching bronze, contrasting black, or brushed brass. All three work well with a bronze frame. This depends on the look you wish. Mixing a bronze door frame with brushed brass handles is a recognised choice in transitional interiors right now. The two warm tones complement each other without being too matchy.

Custom-made dimensions, fitted across the UK

Every bronze steel door is made to your exact measurements. After you order, we visit you at home to measure up, manufacture the door in our factory, and install it at your home. The maximum width per door leaf is 150 centimetres. For wider openings, a fixed side panel or double-door configuration are good options.

Will the bronze finish change colour over time?

The finish is powder-coated. It is not raw bronze or bronze plating, so it does not shift in colour over time. The warmth and depth of the colour stay consistent, which is exactly what most buyers want: the look of bronze without the unpredictable ageing of the real material.

Is the bronze warm or cool toned?

Our standard bronze is a warm, slightly red-brown tone. It is not a cool gunmetal. If you are looking for something cooler, alternatives are available in all RAL colours. Get in touch and we discuss the options.

Does bronze cost more than black?

Bronze is part of our standard RAL palette, so it’s definitely not priced higher than for example black or white. Our configurator shows the same price, whether you choose RAL 9005, RAL 9010 or our standard bronze (RAL 8014). There are no surcharges and no hidden prices.

Will bronze look dated in a few years?

Warm metals have been a trend in high-end interiors since the late 2010s, so bronze is not a short-term trend. Do you want something less distinctive? A dark anthracite like RAL 7021 or a warm grey like RAL 7006 gives a similar grounded feel with a more neutral finish.
