Design your hinged door

Configure your own aluminium hinged door

Our online configurator allows you to design your perfect door in six simple steps. This smart tool guides you through every detail and handles the technical frame calculations automatically.

You only need to enter your overall wall opening size on the screen. The configurator then sizes the frame and the door together for a flawless fit. This eliminates any guesswork from your project. Best of all, the product price you see updates live and always includes both the door and the matching frame. This guarantees complete budget transparency, before you request a final quote.
Pricing for a visit from our survayer and the install of the system, will be calculated by one of our specialists and is based on the type of product and traveltime.

Inswing or outswing, left-hung or right-hung

Inswing or outswing, left-hung or right-hung

When configuring your door, you select from four different hinge setups to match your room layout. An inswing door is the standard choice for most internal spaces because it opens into the room. Is the space behind the door limited? In this case, an outswing door works better because it saves valuable floor space.

Choose a left-hung or right-hung setup depending on your wall layout and the natural traffic flow of your home. You do not need to worry about making a mistake during this step. Our professional surveyor double-checks and confirms your exact hinge choice during a home measurement visit.

Safety glass as standard

Safety glass as standard

Our hinged doors come with 6 mm laminated safety glass. This glass is strong, safe and suitable for everyday use in the home.

In special situations, there is a 10mm glass option available that will offer 4 to 5 decibells more sound insulation. In most situations, 6 mm safety glass offers the right balance between strength, weight and smooth door operation.

Durable finish and smooth closing

Durable finish and smooth closing

An Emezzi hinged door is made to last for many years. Before assembly, the aluminium profiles are finished with a strong powder coating. This coating is hard-wearing, colourfast and protects the door against minor damage. Should a small scratch occur, it can easily be touched up with a paint pen in the correct RAL colour.

The frame is always fitted with a sealing rubber, allowing the door to close neatly and quietly. When you choose a handle, a magnet helps the door settle into position during the final few millimetres. With a lever handle, the door works like a standard hinged door: you open and close it using the handle.

Can I install a hinged steel door in my existing timber frame?

You can install a new door inside an existing timber frame if it is flush and has a minimum depth of 49 millimetres. In these cases, our specialist mounts the new aluminium frame directly inside your current timber setup. If your existing frame does not meet these specific measurements, the wall opening will need to be adjusted. Our surveyor will check your doorway during the measurement visit and confirm exactly what is needed for a proper fit.

How heavy is a hinged steel door?

Thanks to their lightweight aluminium core, our hinged doors weigh approximately 15% less than solid steel doors of the exact same size. For example, a standard door measuring 80 centimetres by 210 centimetres typically weighs around 25 to 30 kilograms. This manageable weight means the system places very little stress on your walls and functions perfectly within any properly installed door frame.

Will the hinges fail over time under the weight of the glass?

Our hinges are specifically sized to support the exact weight of your door and are rated for long-term residential use. One of the main reasons we use high-quality aluminium instead of solid steel is to reduce the overall weight of the system. This lighter construction significantly minimizes the natural wear and tear on the moving parts, ensuring the hinges remain aligned and operate smoothly for decades.
