In most offices we work with, the aim is not to build solid walls. They want a meeting room that feels separate, without making the floor feel smaller. A glass office wall does exactly that.

Daylight continues to move through the space. Colleagues can still see each other and the room keeps an open feel. If the business grows or the layout changes, the office walls can move with it.

Where office walls work best

We often see office walls used for meeting rooms within open-plan offices, or for separate offices where a little more privacy is needed.

They are also commonly used near reception areas. In that setting, the wall helps define the entrance area without blocking the view. Emezzi’s system is suitable for a single standalone partition, as well as a larger office fit-out with multiple rooms.

Which glass option is right for your office wall?

Acoustics and glass specifications

How much sound does your office wall actually block? This is often one of the first questions in office projects.

Emezzi office walls come with laminated safety glass as standard. This is available in clear, frosted, grey or acoustic glass. The acoustic option offers the highest sound reduction, with sound reduction of up to 39 decibels. This makes normal speech in a meeting room harder to follow from the other side of the wall, although it will not be completely inaudible.

For general meeting rooms and workspaces, clear, frosted or grey glass works well. For rooms where confidential conversations take place or many video calls are held, acoustic glass is the best choice. During the site visit, our advisor will be happy to help you choose the right specification for your situation.

The most popular configuration for an office wall is a clear single-glazed wall with a hinged door. A hinged door is supplied with a frame, which allows the room to be closed off more effectively. This helps to reduce sound between spaces.

Acoustic-rated meeting rooms

In meeting rooms used for confidential conversations, video meetings or focused work, acoustic laminated glass is the best choice. With this specification, normal speech is reduced effectively.
