Steel walls

You want two spaces, but you want good light in both rooms. A steel wall is the best solution for that. It divides a room cleanly, while keeping the view. The space on both sides still feels connected.

Emezzi’s steel walls use the same 30 millimetre aluminium profile as the aluminium door range. A wall with a door within it is a continuous system, which is exactly the point.

Smooth steel walls

Steel walls, slim glazed partitions that divide a space without closing it off

Think of a kitchen next to a dining room, or a home office that could use a little more separation from the rest of the house. A steel wall creates a clear division, while still keeping light and visibility between the spaces.

The 30 millimetre aluminium profile gives the wall a slim and clean look. Whether you choose a fully glazed panel or a Crittall-style grid, the overall result remains open and practical.

Why choose an steel wall?

Fixed walls with or without a door

The simplest option is a fixed glass panel without an opening. This is often used as a partition wall between two spaces, for example to keep light and visibility while still creating some separation.

A popular option is a wall with a single or double door. For larger openings, we often place several walls next to each other, with a single or double door if desired.

Is the space higher than 300 cm? Then we can add a toplight if required. With our configurator, you can easily put together your steel wall yourself.

Door types within a steel wall

Door types within a steel wall

Our three door types integrate very well into a steel wall within the same 30 millimetre profile. A hinged door is the most traditional and the easiest to specify. A pivot door makes more of a statement and suits wider openings. A sliding door runs on a wall-mounted track and preserves the floor space in front of the wall when the door is open, which is useful in tighter spaces.

Bar layout, designed to suit your style

You can put together your door exactly how you want it. Choose a calm, fully glazed design for a clean and modern look, or add horizontal and vertical glazing bars for more detail and character.

With a grid design, the glass is divided into separate sections. This works well in both classic and industrial interiors.

Transoms and fanlights

Transoms and fanlights

A transom is a horizontal panel above the door height that extends the wall upwards. A fanlight is a decorative top panel, often arched, that is particularly common in heritage installs where the wall needs to follow the original architecture of the building.

Both allow a steel wall to fill a floor-to-ceiling run cleanly, which makes a big difference in rooms with high ceilings.

Glass options

Glass choices for steel walls

Clear 6 millimetre laminated safety glass is the standard for most applications. It is also the most popular type of glass. Clear glass allows plenty of light through and keeps the view between spaces open.

Frosted glass or reeded glass is a good choice for the bedroom or en-suite side of a wall, where a little more privacy may be preferred. Bronze or grey tinted glass works well in interiors where the glass is also part of the overall look.

Finish: standard black or any RAL colour of your choice

Black (RAL 9005, is the standard finish and also the most popular colour. Would you prefer a different colour? White, bronze, and gold are and any other RAL colour is possible, although this comes at an additional cost.

Most people choose the same colour as the door, so the wall and door form one complete look. In our configurator, you can put together your wall yourself and choose your preferred colour.

Is your question not listed? We’re happy to help!

How much sound does a steel wall block?

A steel wall with single glazing and a single-glazed door provides limited sound reduction. The difference is clearly noticeable compared to an open doorway, but it is not the same as a solid wall.

How long does it take to install a steel wall?

We can often install a steel wall within half a day. For larger projects, this can sometimes take a full day. This mainly depends on the size and design of the project. During the intake, we will of course clearly let you know what to expect.

Can a steel wall be removed later without damage?

A steel wall is fixed to the floor, ceiling and adjoining walls. It can be removed at a later stage. In most cases, only standard making good is required afterwards, such as filling the fixing points and touching up the areas where the wall was installed.

Are steel walls suitable for offices and homes?

Steel walls are suitable for both homes and offices, but they are most commonly used in office spaces. Think of partition walls, meeting rooms or workspaces where light and visibility need to be maintained.

In homes, steel walls are also used regularly, for example as a room divider or as a wall for a home office.
