Fire-rated doors, clearly explained
Tested bespoke fire-rated steel doors and windows
Our fire-rated windows and doors have been tested in accordance with the European standard EN 1634.
This means they have been extensively exposed to controlled heat and fire in a laboratory environment to determine how long they can withstand fire, heat and smoke. Based on these tests, the products receive a fire resistance classification, expressed in minutes:
- E classification: E30, E60, E90, E120
Prevents the passage of flames and hot gases, but does not necessarily limit heat transfer. - EI classification: EI30, EI60, EI90, EI120
Provides protection against both fire and heat, ensuring that the temperature on the other side does not rise too high. - EW classification: EW30, EW60, EW90
Limits heat radiation in addition to preventing the passage of fire.
