The advantages of hinged doors
A hinged door is the most familiar door type there is, and that is exactly where its strength lies. It opens the way people expect, fits almost any room, and closes solidly against its frame. Below you will find the main advantages of hinged doors, so you can see whether this is the right steel-look door for your space.

Hinged doors need little space on one side
One of the advantages of hinged doors is that they only need room on one side to open. A hinged door swings into the room on its hinges, so unlike a pivot door, which needs space on both sides to turn, you keep the other side of the opening completely free. That makes a hinged door easy to place against a wall, where the open door is not in the way.
This makes a hinged door a practical choice in rooms where one side of the opening is in front of a wall, such as a bedroom, a study or a living room.
Hinged doors close solidly and shut out the cold
Because a hinged door closes against a frame, it shuts firmly and leaves no gap around the edges. That is one of the clearest advantages of hinged doors over door types without a frame: it keeps cold air out and warmth in.
The thicker 10 millimetre glass adds to that solid, reassuring close. This makes a hinged door especially suitable for places where cold air comes in, such as a hallway or an entrance, where you want a door that closes off the space properly.
Hinged doors fit new and existing frames
Another advantage of hinged doors is how easily they fit into your home. A hinged door comes with its own slim aluminium frame, made to measure for your opening. Do you already have a frame in place? Then we can fit the door into an existing frame, as long as it is a square wooden frame with a depth of 49 millimetres.
That flexibility makes a hinged door a practical choice during a renovation, since the existing frame can often stay in place. That saves work and keeps the disruption to your home to a minimum.
Hinged doors suit single and double openings
A hinged door is easy to match to the width of your opening. For a standard doorway, a single door is the natural choice. For a wider opening, you can choose a double door that meets in the middle and opens from both sides, which works well as a broad passage between two rooms, such as between a living room and a kitchen.
A hinged door is light and easy to maintain
Like every Emezzi door, a hinged door is made from aluminium rather than steel. Aluminium is lighter than steel, around 15 percent, so the door swings easily on its hinges and stays comfortable to use every day. It also does not rust, so the only maintenance it needs is an occasional clean.
You choose the door in the RAL colour that suits your interior. The standard finish is black, but almost any RAL colour is possible, and you decide on the glass and the layout to match your room.
