Metal doors

Metal doors have a reputation for being heavy, cold and hard to maintain. The aluminium doors of Emezzi change that. Emezzi makes doors with the same slim profiles and sharp lines you expect from metal, but lighter, rust-free and built to last. Our doors are available as pivot, hinged, sliding or rebate doors, all made to measure.

Metal doors at Emezzi: what are they actually?

When most people search for metal doors, they picture solid steel for themselves. In practice, the concept “metal doors” covers a wide range of materials, including steel, aluminium, and other steel-look products.

Emezzi’s doors are made from powder-coated aluminium with a 30 millimetre profile. That is a good choice. Aluminium gives you the same slim sightline as steel, without the weight and without the rust risk. There is also no high price tag. The result looks and feels like a steel door, but is easier to live with day to day.

You choose, we make it fit

The full Emezzi metal door range

Emezzi offers several categories of metal doors, each suited to different spaces and styles. The steel-look range covers the broad parent category: slim aluminium profiles with the appearance of steel.

Within that, our Crittall-style doors are the heritage variant. They have characteristic multi-pane glass and a classic grid pattern. For opening types, you can choose from pivot doors, hinged doors, sliding doors, and rebate doors.

Each metal door works differently and suits different situations. Emezzi also supplies matching steel walls and folding walls, using the same 30 millimetre profile, for a consistent look across your whole house.

By opening type

By opening type

The opening type you choose your door changes how the door works and how it looks in your room. Pivot doors make a strong impression and sit frameless in the opening, rotating on a floor and ceiling mount. Hinged doors are the most familiar type, fitted with a full aluminium frame.

Sliding doors run along a rail and are a good option where floor space is limited. Rebate doors overlap the frame slightly for a tighter seal, which works well for double-door configurations. Each door is available in the full range of Emezzi finishes and glass options.

By style

By style

The style you choose comes down to personal preference. Fully glazed slim-profile doors have a clean, modern look with maximum glass and minimal frame. Crittall-style doors divide the glass into smaller parts, using a grid of aluminium bars. This gives them a more traditional, industrial feel.

Both styles are available across all door types: pivot, hinged, sliding, and rebate. So whether you prefer a contemporary look or something with more character, the choice is purely aesthetic. The structure and quality underneath is exactly the same.

By finish

By finish

Matt black (RAL 9005) is the standard finish and the most popular choice. If you prefer something different, white, bronze, and gold are available as standard alternatives at no extra cost. Any other RAL colour is available on request, giving you the freedom to match the doors to your existing interior. All finishes are applied as a powder-coated layer across the full profile, so the colour is consistent and durable.

Where Emezzi metal doors work best

Metal doors are beautiful in more spaces than most people expect. The most popular placement is between the kitchen and living room. A glazed door keeps the two spaces connected while reducing noise and cooking smells.

Ensuites and dressing rooms are another natural fit, as are home offices where you want a visual separation without losing light. Hallways, stairwells, and garden room transitions all work well too.

As a partition wall system, Emezzi doors are at home in residential and office settings. They are also a recognised renovation solution in Victorian and Edwardian terraces, where the slim profiles complement the original architecture without looking out of place.

Choose your door type

Configure your metal door

With the online Emezzi configurator, you design your own metal door in six steps. Start by choosing the door type: pivot, hinged, sliding, or rebate. Then set the dimensions, select your glass type, pick a finish, and add any extras such as side panels or a specific door handle.

In the final step, the configurator shows the all-in price in real time, including the measurement, manufacture, and installation. Whether you are after a single pivot door, a Crittall-style double door, or a full partition wall system, the configurator handles the calculations and gives you an instant price.

Custom-made dimensions, fitted across the UK

Every Emezzi door is made to measure. After you place an order, a surveyor visits you at home to take exact measurements of the door opening. The door is then manufactured in our workshop in Nunspeet and fitted by one of our professionals.

The maximum width per door is 150 centimetres. For wider openings, there are three options: side panels, transoms above a door, or a double-door configuration. All three are handled in the configurator, so you can see how the layout is and what it costs before committing. Installation is included in the configurator price, so there are no surprises after you order.

Are Emezzi metal doors actually made of metal?

Emezzi doors are made from aluminium, which is a metal. The term “metal door” usually refers to the visual style: slim profiles, glass, and a metal frame. Aluminium delivers that look with practical advantages over solid steel: lighter, rust-free, and lower in price.

How do Emezzi metal doors compare to wooden doors?

Metal doors have slimmer profiles, so you get more glass in the doors. The profiles do not swell or warp with the seasons and require less maintenance. Wood still makes sense for traditional country interiors or privacy doors, but metal is the stronger choice for contemporary and heritage schemes.

Can I get a metal door without any glass?

Emezzi doors come with glass as standard. If you need a door without glazing, that is possible on request for certain door types. Get in touch with the Emezzi team to discuss the options for your specific situation.

Are metal doors hard to install?

Installation is handled by Emezzi-authorised dealers as part of the all-in price. You do not need to arrange anything separately. We work from the dimensions confirmed at the measurement visit and fit the door or wall system in half a day to two days, depending on the configuration.

What's the typical price range for an Emezzi metal door?

The price depends on the door type, dimensions, glass specification, and finish. A single hinged door is the most affordable starting point, with larger configurations such as pivot doors and partition wall systems priced higher. The configurator gives you an exact all-in price in real time, including measurements and installation, so you know exactly where you stand before committing.
