Warm & timeless

Flush steel doors that disappear into the wall

Most doors always stick out because of their wide frames and bulky edges. A flush door is different because it sits completely flat against the wall when closed. There are no protruding frames, so your wall looks like one smooth, continuous surface. Emezzi’s flush doors create this seamless look perfectly. We use our signature slim 30-millimetre aluminium profile and custom-make every door to match the exact thickness of your wall.

Why specify a flush door over a standard hinged door

With a flush door you get clean, intentional spaces. These minimalist internal doors are the perfect fit for high-end interiors and hidden transitions. These black doors are an ideal solution for spaces like a pantry, dressing room, or home study.

Our doors even complement period properties, acting as a concealed hidden door that fully respects the original architecture. Keep in mind that because the frame must be perfectly plastered into the wall, the installation of a flush door requires more precise carpentry and is more investment-heavy than a standard hinged door.

Custom-made and tailored to your wishes

Where do flush steel doors work best?

Flush steel doors are incredibly versatile and work beautifully in various areas of the home. They are a popular choice for a study or library entrance, a pantry or utility room off a minimalist kitchen, or a dressing room within a primary suite.

These modern flush doors, especially in white, are especially common in new-build and full-renovation projects. This is because the wall build-up can be planned and detailed correctly from the start to accommodate the flush frame installation.

How is a flush door installed?

To get that perfectly smooth wall, our specialists follow a specific order when installing a door. The best is to install the frame before the walls are plastered. This allows the plasterer to finish the wall right up to the edge of the frame. When the door is closed, it is completely level with the plastered surface.

Because of this order, a flush door is best planned during the construction stage of a house or extension. Installing a flush door into an existing wall during a quick room makeover is possible, but it requires more demolition and repair work.

Glazed flush doors for maximum light

Emezzi doors always feature glass to keep natural light flowing through your home. For our flush doors, choosing a fully glazed layout without any horizontal or vertical bars gives you the ultimate minimalist look. This allows the glass to act as a sleek design element that blends flat with your wall.

Do you want a seamless flush installation, but do you still need privacy? Opt for frosted or tinted glass. This is the perfect way to block views without losing that open feel.

Endless possibilities

Custom-made dimensions, fitted across the UK

Every Emezzi door is made to your exact measurements for a perfect fit. After you design your door, a professional surveyor visits your home to take precise measurements. We manufacture the aluminium doors in our own workshop.

The frame must be plastered into the wall, so flush installations benefit from a survey much earlier in the project than standard hinged doors. We recommend scheduling this during the first-fix stage. This allows our surveyor to check the wall structure upfront and ensure everything is detailed correctly before the plastering begins. Configure your own door. Are you still deciding on the mechanism for your project? You can also explore our alternative styles, such as our pivot doors.

Quick answer

Frequently asked questions about flush steel doors

Flush installations are highly design-led, which means most questions we hear focus on installation timing, retrofitting, and how the clean finish behaves in daily practice. We answer these questions.

Is your question not listed? We’re happy to help!

Can a flush door be retrofitted into an existing wall?

This requires extra preparation. The wall around the opening needs to be cut back and reworked so the new plaster can run completely flat to the new frame. Our surveyor will check your wall structure during their visit and quote the additional carpentry work required for a seamless finish.

Does a flush door still feel solid when closed?

Absolutely. The slim aluminium profile and heavy laminated safety glass provide the exact same premium weight and solid feel as a standard Emezzi door. We use high-quality magnetic or mechanical latches to ensure a firm, satisfying close; the hidden effect is purely visual.

Will the flush show after a few years of movement?

By design, there is always a tiny hairline shadow gap (typically 3 to 5 millimetres) around any flush door. This intentional gap easily absorbs minor seasonal movement in your home. When installed correctly during the first-fix stage, the clean join stays perfectly consistent over time.

Is a flush door fire-rated?

No, the standard Emezzi range, including our flush variant, is not fire-rated. If your building regulations require fire-rated concealed doors, please contact our team directly to discuss your project specs, or consult a specialist fire-rated door supplier.
